Sasha Margolisline

SMargolisPraised by The Washington Post for his "incisive, vibrato-rich tone," Sasha Margolis joined Glimmerglass Opera and the Honolulu Symphony in 2003. Previously, he was Concertmaster at the Spoleto Festival for the American premieres of operas by Janá?ek, Henze, Kagel, Bellini, and Donizetti. He has worked with such conductors as Levine, Boulez, Barenboim, Spano, and Rostropovich, and was a substitute player in the National Symphony. An experienced chamber musician, he has performed with members of the Pro Arte, Corigliano, and Arianna string quartets, and players from the National, Pittsburgh, and Detroit symphonies. In addition, he has appeared as a strolling violinist on the television show Lost, and played for the wedding of NBA star Grant Hill.
