Sue Rabutline

Sue Rabut studied violin with Roman Totenberg as an undergraduate at Boston University and later, with Sally Thomas, of the Juilliard School. She was violininist with the Apple Hill Chamber Players for five years followed by three years with the Boston Composers String Quartet. After her daughter was born she returned to freelancing and Opera/ Orchestral work in the Boston area. Sue has been a member of the Glimmerglass Orchestra since 1993. During that time she has served as Principal Second Violin, acting Asociate Concertmaster, and section violin, as well as being the only violinist at Glimmerglass who is tenured on Period/ Baroque Violin. Sue currently resides in Boston, MA with her daughter, Katie. Some of her current musical affiliations include Boston Lyric Opera, Boston Classical Orchestra, The Handel and Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, Boston Cecelia, Emmanuel Music and a private teaching studio for adult amateur violinists.
